  • WV Active Bilston – Bert Williams Free Taster Session Monday 26 March: 7:30pm – 8:30pm

Details: Workout regularly but need some guidance on your eating habits? WV Active are launching Active Change - a NEW 8-week weight loss course which focuses on health and nutrition. Learn how to fuel your body whilst having fun with food. If you’re interested join one of the FREE taster sessions to see if the course is for you.

‘Aspire for Better’ – support for women and girls

Dates and Times:

  • Monday 19 and 26 March - Job Club, 9am - 12pm;
  • Tuesday 20 and 27 March - ESOL for Health, 10am - 12pm;
  • Wednesday 14, 21 and 28 March - Coffee Morning, 10am - 12pm and Mother and Toddler, 1pm - 2pm.

Details: Calling all women who ‘aspire for better’ to drop in for a coffee and get support to improve your health, well-being, financial independence and get connected socially. Thinking of further education or paid work? We can help there too. In fact, we have it all covered. Drop-in for coffee and start working on improving your confidence.

Deaf Badminton

Date: Monday 19 and 26 March
Time: 6pm – 7pm
Venue: Aldersley Leisure Village, Aldersley Road, Wolverhampton WV6 9NW

Details: Fun weekly social badminton sessions for deaf people. For more information, contact sean@zebra-access.com.
Booking: Just drop in and pay £3 per session (bring own rackets or hire from Aldersley Leisure Village for a fee).


Deaf Advocacy drop-ins

  • Tuesday 20 and 27 March, 10am - 1pm, Blakenhall Community and Healthy Living Centre, (The Bob Jones Centre), Bromley St, Wolverhampton WV2 3AS
  • Wednesday 14, 21 and 28 March, 1pm - 5pm, Civic Centre, Wolverhampton City Council, St Peters Square, Wolverhampton WV1 1SH

Details: Free weekly specialist advocacy service for deaf people living in Wolverhampton and surrounding areas. One to one appointments are also available.

Deaf Social Coffee Morning

Date: Friday 23 March
Time: 10.30am – 1pm
Venue: Lockworks Café, Light House Media Centre, The Chubb Buildings, Fryer St, Wolverhampton WV1 1HT

Details: Informal coffee mornings every 2 weeks for deaf people to socialise and chat over tea/coffee whilst guest speakers from various organisations such as Police, Slimming World, the City Council and more attends once a month.

Health Awareness in Bilston

Date:Monday 19, Thursday 22, Friday 23 March.
Time: 10am – 12pm
Venue: Off Bilston High Street, under Market Way near Superdrug

Details: Information from a range of health and wellbeing services will be available on a stall in the town centre including goodies and the opportunity to speak to people from a range of agencies including the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

Mind your health

Date: Wednesday 21 March
Time: 4pm – 7pm
Venue: Bob Jones Community Hub, Bromley Street, Wolverhampton WV2 3AS

Details: An opportunity for young people, parents and carers to take part in fun, free activities to improve emotional health and wellbeing. There will also be an opportunity to find out about the facilities and services available for the local community at the Hub including the gym, dance studio, badminton, table tennis, martial arts and yoga.

Advice on living healthily

Date: Wednesday 21, 26, 29 March
Time: 10am – 2pm
Venue:Mander Centre Lower Mall (outside former BHS store)

Details: Come and find out how healthy you are and get tips on how you can lead a healthier lifestyle.

Deaf Youth Sessions at The Way Youth Zone

Dates and Times:

  • For ages 8-12: Tuesday 27th March, 6pm-8pm
  • For ages 13-18: Wednesday 21st March, 6pm-8pm

Venue: The Way Youth Zone, School St, Wolverhampton WV3 0NR

Details: Fun sessions every two weeks for young deaf people who would like to do a variety of activities such as sports, music, arts, deaf culture etc. For more information, contact Deirdre@zebra-access.com
